When buying an electric scooter, e-bike or electric motorcycle in Bangladesh, compare motor power, battery chemistry and capacity, real-world range, top speed, brakes and smart features, then check showroom and service access and BRTA registration. Motor power, given in watts (W), shapes acceleration and how well a scooter handles hills and passengers. A higher rating usually means quicker starts and a higher top speed, but it can use more energy per kilometre.
Capacity, given in kWh, sets how much energy the battery stores; more capacity generally means more range. Chemistry matters too: lithium iron phosphate and lithium-ion batteries are lighter than lead-acid types, and some lithium packs are portable so they can be charged indoors.
Listed range is measured under favourable conditions. Real-world range varies with speed, load and riding mode, so plan your daily distance with a margin below the claimed figure.
Check that the top speed suits the roads you ride on. Higher top speed is useful on faster roads, while city riding rarely needs the maximum.
Disc brakes generally give stronger, more consistent stopping than drum brakes, especially in wet conditions. Look at both the front and rear brake type.
App connectivity can add GPS positioning, ride reports and remote control. Over-the-air (OTA) updates improve the software without a workshop visit, and NFC unlocking lets you start the scooter with a phone or card.
Buy from a seller with a physical showroom where you can see models, ask questions and return for service. Local after-sales support matters as much as the specifications.
